So I know that many of you prom girls want the all important ‘red sole’ shoe for prom, but we may not all have the budget for a red sole, particularly if you have gone all out on your prom dress and it is definitely not a prom requirement! It is important to remember that, although you want a fab shoe to go with your prom dress, most of the time you can’t always see your shoes with your floor length dress!
However, one of the most fun items to style with your prom look are definitely the shoes! I think the best thing about choosing your prom shoes is that you can choose something that you can wear again – bonus!
When hunting down the perfect prom shoes, make sure they compliment and don’t distract from your dress.
Strappy heels and stilettos are great because of their delicate look. You may have chosen a prom dress with a leg slit, so your shoes will peek out and will actually play a major role in your overall prom look, so you may want to choose your shoes a little more carefully if this is the case.
If a heel for prom sounds too uncomfortable, you could consider a pump to go under your gown – I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a sparkly converse! After all, you probably won’t even be able to tell what you are wearing on your feet!
Prom is about dancing the night away and having fun and so, you need to be comfortable to dance and enjoy yourself! So if you are going for heels, you could always pack a pair of comfy flats in your bag (if you have room) and this is a great way to ensure you have the best time all night long.
Or, you could just be like me and wear you heels for as long as you possibly can and then take them off at the end of the night and go bare feet! Pain is beauty right?
